“Please join us on 听to mark 10 years since the publication of the听World Report on Disability.听

Published on June 10 2011, the World Health Organization-World Bank听World Report on Disability was the first document to review the global picture on the lives of people with disabilities, and highlighted barriers to health, rehabilitation, environments, education and employment, experienced by people with disabilities. 听

Now, 10 years on, we ask:听鈥淗ow far have we come, and did the World Report on Disability make a difference?鈥澨

Join us as we bring together editors of the听World Report on Disability听and disability advocates to discuss how the听World Report听contributed and find out where the World Health Organization is going next.听

Presentation from Alana Officer, Unit Head of Demographic Change and Healthy Ageing at the World Health Organization. From 2007-2014 Alana was Coordinator for the Disability and Rehabilitation Team, leading the development of the听World Report on Disability.听

Faustina Urassa is a disability rights activist, Master Peer trainer for people with disabilities and founder of Songambele in Tanzania. She will share her thoughts on the difference the听World Report听has made since its publication.听
